To know Harlow is to love her.
Truly — if you’ve met her, she’s probably already sat on your feet, demanded pets, and looked into your soul with those big “please give me your snack” eyes.
For the last 9 years, Harlow has been my best friend, my shadow, my therapist (with zero qualifications), and honestly, the one who’s kept me in line. They say we raise dogs, but I’m convinced Harlow’s been raising me right back — with more patience, love, and fur than I ever thought possible.
Unfortunately, over the last two weeks, she hasn’t been herself. She’s been throwing up on and off, and after lots of worry and vet visits, we finally found out why: our sweet girl swallowed something she shouldn’t have (probably something ridiculous and definitely not food — classic Harlow). That foreign object got stuck, caused a blockage, and eventually led to a perforated intestine. She’s been leaking intestinal fluid (yep, gross AND scary), and now needs surgery to fix it and save her life.
So here I am, hat in hand, doing something I never do — asking for help. The vet bills and surgery costs are a lot, and while we’re doing everything we can, any donation — big, small, or medium-sized like Harlow’s obsession with tennis balls — would help us immensely.
If you know Harlow, you know she’s got a lot of tail wags, snuggles, and unsolicited kisses left to give. She’s not done yet. She just needs a little help getting back on her paws.
I totally get that times are tough and that there are lots of worthy causes out there — but if you’re able to help take even a little bit of this financial weight off our shoulders, we’d be endlessly grateful. (Harlow promises at least 5 thank-you licks in return.)
Thanks for loving our girl — she really is one of a kind. ❤️
