Hi, I'm Aspen Sinkler, and this is our Go Fund Me account.

My dad was recently involved in an extremely gruesome ATV accident and needs all the help he can get. I am fourteen and have an adopted five year old brother, Joshua. I live with my step mom, my dad and Joshua, my dad is currently at Bryan Medical Center in Lincoln, Nebraska due to not being able to breath on Thursday. He is going to be transferred to Madonna, where he can start rehab. On April 22 there was an accident, he was found unconscious, he has C1 Fracture, C7 thru T2 injury. He had to have ER surgery to fuse his neck at those 3 vertebrae as they were sliding off of each other heading toward the spinal cord so they had to perform surgery. The surgery was a success. His injuries include 3-5 broken ribs, serious road rash, bleeding on the brain which has stopped, a broken nose, a laceration to the liver, contusion to his right kidney, he couldn't breathe, he has no feeling in lower extremities and right arm is numb and now has 4-5 blood clots in right arm making it swell making it 3 times the normal size. We have a theory that the ATV rolled several times, possibly on top of him. He landed on his right side and we'd like to think that this happened because when he was driving his hat fall off and when he look back the ATV grab the soft sand and flipped him. He became unconscious for at least twenty 24 to 48hours. He was immediately rushed to the ER in Valentine, Nebraska, where he was life flighted to Good Samaritan in Kearney, Nebraska. As the journey has continued, it has honestly been pretty rough. His right lung collapsed, he is currently still paralyzed from the midline down plus his right arm, that he can only move a little, occasionally. He's been fighting some pretty bad battles of depression, thinking he's worthless and that we should let him just go. I, as his daughter of course, made him resend his verbally signed DNR; which he agreed to. (I'm just too good.) He can't control his bowel movements, has a catheter in, and his whole body aches. His neck, which was pretty much crooked. Due to all of the secretion, he had to have several lung washes. Most of them succeeded, but it kept coming back. He currently has pneumonia and cannot eat, he hasn't been able to eat since the accident. He eats through a feeding tube which we all know that is not Chic-Fil. My dad used to haul cows all over the US he has since slowed down but this injury will not allow him to go back to driving ever. As a young teenager it's really hard to see the one person who's never left you since birth be stuck in a bed with tubes and chords connected to every part of his body. I used to self harm, and I once was also suicidal, so seeing him in this state of mind really hits me hard. I know my step mom and brother aren't taking it very well, either. My mom cries daily and none of us know what to do. Mom likes to say I'm the strong one, but I even doubt that at times. Since my dad is paralyzed, Bryan Medical Center, Good Samaritan, and Madonna are all 100% confident he will be coming home in a wheelchair. We're going to use money raised to help us out since we live in a trailer house that has stairs to get indoors. We really need some things to help us either buy a new house or improve the one we have in Kilgore Ne. The place we have right now is an studio at best apartment that Madonna has provided at a discount which we are thankful for, but it is still $1500 a month mom has to pay for without a job not including food, who knew kids ate some much (lol). Not to mention a lot of other things have happen Mom had to take a leave of absent at her job which she just started in November at Cherry County Hospital. Mom's has had a health scare with her pacemaker which we thought we where doing good on, but Dr's took blood test only to find out that her thyroid test are all abnormal with the talk of anything from an autoimmune disease to the cancer. Mom is the strong one she is trying to put on a brave face but I hear her crying, see her being scared. If you can find it in your heart to help we would greatly appreciate it. We are praying that we can go home by the time school starts or we would be out mom and dad till they can come if we have a house ready for them to come home. A new trailer house with the correct doors and bathroom that dad needs is 100k, we have some money saved up but that much. I know that sounds like a bunch of money and it is, but I don't know where my mom is going to come up with the rest as well as keep my brother and my self up in food and clothes.
Thank you for listening to our story.
Pray for my dad
