On April 23, 2020, amid the COVID-19 closures, the home to our community, our gym, was broken into and burglarized. Our security cameras caught someone breaking our glass door and stealing two Assault Airbikes and some other training equipment totaling about $2300.00 in losses.
The burglar cut himself on the glass and the Arcadia Police Department
is working help us catch the criminal, but haven't seen justice yet.

Then, on July 23, 2020, the same burglar broke into our gym by cutting open a metal gate and then breaking open the lock to our backdoor just before trying to unplug our camera. Luckily, the camera operates on batteries as well and we were able to catch the burglar stealing nearly all of our dumbbells, workout bands, some maces, and other small things totaling $2500 in losses this time.
Never before has anyone heard of a gym being broken into, but because the COVID-19 threat has closed nearly every gym in Los Angeles, our gym has become a target for theft. Gym equipment everywhere is sold out and the second-hand market for gym equipment is over double, sometimes triple the cost of market value.
Now we're hurt, frustrated, angry, sad, and need your help. Our insurance was able to cover the repairs and damages to the gym itself, but they did not cover the burglarized items. As a result, it's up to us to pay for and try to recuperate our losses.

To add insult to injury, the COVID-19 pandemic is not over and our gym is still feeling the effects of not being able to run at full capacity as well as feeling vulnerable due to the closures and unavailability of equipment.
While we may not be able to get our equipment right away, raising this money would ensure that when the equipment becomes available again, we can purchase it to restore our home to its original function. We've poured our hearts and efforts into building this gym and it hurts to have parts of it ripped away from us because people want to take advantage of the current climate.
We truly appreciate everyone's support and we are thankful for our community. At the end of the day, we just want to be able to run a gym that our members can call their second home. Thank you all again for your generosity.
