My name is Gidget, and I’m reaching out because my fiancé and I are facing a really tough time. Our vehicle has broken down for the second time in a month, and we’ve spent every last dollar we have trying to keep it running. Even though our family has helped as much as they can, they’re no longer able to support us. Every time we turn around, we’re putting money into a new part and paying a mechanic to install it. Now, we’re behind on rent, and we had to make the impossible choice between having a vehicle to make money and get to doctors’ appointments for my fiancé—who is still recovering from a stroke—or paying our rent. I even thought, if it came down to it, we could always live in our vehicle if we had to.

With so many things needing replacement on our current car, we’re hoping to invest in a more reliable vehicle that won’t break down every time we hit a bump. If we’re able to raise enough, the funds will also help us catch up on back rent and give us a little breathing room. We’re doing everything we can, but we can’t do it alone.
