Hi everyone! My name is Patricia, and the reason I'm asking for donations is because my husband and I are trying to raise funds to be able to purchase a wheelchair lift for a local elderly woman.

She recently (2 months or so) moved into a new trailer, and the trailer does not have a wheelchair ramp. She has been scooting up and down her stairs, in the rain, snow, and sunshine every time she needs to go somewhere.

She has reached out to try and get a ramp installed, but has been given the run around from multiple organizations that are supposed to help individuals like her. The biggest hard stop has been the need for a permit to build the ramp.

My husband and I have been trying to figure out what we can do to help her get in and out of her home without having to scoot up and down steep and narrow steps. We have reached out to multiple local organizations and churches, and have been "no" in many different ways, some nice, some not so nice.

The lift we're trying to get is being sold by another local individual here in town, and is willing to hold it till we get the funds together. They are selling a $6,600 lift for $2,500.

We so far have received a donation of $500 towards the cost of the lift from the local Evening Lions Club. We still need $2,000.

I have seen this community come together and help out in ways that no one expected, and I'm praying that we can do that again for this sweet woman and get her a safe and reliable way into her home.
