Help Us Get a Safer Tour Van

The van has been like our fourth band member since our first tour run in 2022. I moved to Nashville in the Odyssey, got career-changing news in the backseat, endured COVID and some gnarly migraines on the way home from tour, and even wrote the first verse to "Perpetual Motion Machine" on a trip from South Carolina. We have ridden 65K miles together and survived many scrapes, a flat tire, a flat spare, a parking violation/tow in Toronto, an array of electrical issues, a smashed door in Ann Arbor, and now a broken A/C system, and at 236,000 miles (and counting), it is time for an upgrade.

Any repairs would cost more than the value of this already once-totaled vehicle. It gets anxiety whenever it rains and we have a check engine light that flickers, seemingly related to the transmission. Most importantly, I'm not confident the airbags would work in a crash because there is water damage and leakage on the interior's airbag indicators and evidence of electrical shorts in other areas.

We are also in need of some new PA speakers, as we have been asked to provide our own sound for a few community concerts and house shows this year, and the two speakers we do have are very worn and produce a muffled sound. Between $500 and $1,000 of our goal will be put toward upgrading our live sound.

With each donor's consent, I will send a thank you via a handwritten postcard from a tour stop this summer. If an individual donates $1,000 or more I will add their name to a stick figure family decal on the rear window, with their permission.

Anything beyond our goal will go toward helping us secure a better, more reliable vehicle.
