HELP KEEP ELVER PARK A TOP XC SKI DESTINATION

Tax deductible
This has been one of the most challenging years in memory for Midwest cross country skiing. But thanks to the ongoing public-private partnership between the Madison Nordic Ski Club and the City of Madison, Elver Park delivered some of the best trail conditions in Wisconsin.

MadNorSki volunteers stepped up quickly to pack the Elver Park ski trails following two major January snowfalls --allowing city crews to focus on vital snowplowing efforts. This early grooming attention helped make the wooded trails at Elver skiable even as temperatures started to rise.

Unfortunately, all the hard work was also hard on MadNorSki’s equipment. That’s where you come in. The club now needs to raise $30,000 to replace an aging snowmobile and purchase a new groomer. This will keep Elver a top cross country ski venue for all ages and abilities -- offering lighted trails, ski rentals
and a spacious warming house.

The partnership between MadNorSki and Madison Parks dates to 2013, allowing the club to use its own equipment and trained volunteers to help maintain the 10 kilometers of public ski trails. This cooperative arrangement has led to consistent daily grooming, keeping the Elver Park trails smooth and safe even with heavy skier use.

Over the past three decades at Elver Park, MadNorSki has offered ski lessons for children and adults, organized weeknight races under the lights and supported women’s ski programming. Elver has also hosted the Wisconsin State High School Sprint Championships and continues as a popular destination for area ski clubs, youth groups and charitable organizations.

While this winter was a tough one, the Elver Park trails stayed skiable thanks to early grooming efforts and ongoing maintenance by both MadNorSki and Madison Parks.

Please consider a tax deductible donation of any amount to ensure the future of quality skiing at Elver Park -- no matter what the weather brings.
