I am seeking help for my disabled daughter. We have no way of getting her in and out of the house safely. Insurance won't cover a stair lift and I tried to finance through 6 or 7 different companies. I had the ramp builders come to measure the stairs and height, they cannot install a ramp due to our house sits up super high and we would need 64 feet of ramp by safety guidelines. So our last option is to get her a portable chair lift. It's what the EMT's and fire department uses to transfer patients up and down stairs. The cheapest (but sturdy) one I have found is over $900, without shipping and handling. I have nowhere else to turn besides this GoFundMe. Tornado season was super scary, we got her to the basement once and about broke our backs doing it. I have medical issues that prevent me from doing heavy lifting like that. I can still stand her up and pivot her and take care of all of her other needs, it's just the stairs I cannot do. She has missed physical and speech therapy so far this year and has specialist appointments coming up soon that she cannot miss.

Background story of my daughter is, in January 2023, she got into a horrific car accident with a semi trailer. She died twice but came back. She has a permanent traumatic brain injury with a DAI. She spent 8 months in the hospitals and then nursing homes untill she finally woke up and tore out her tracheotomy. Soon after that, I got to bring her home. I was with her every single day, back and forth to Chicago. I even lived out there for the last couple months. She has two kids of her own, Julian(7) and Hazel(5). They stay with their dad but are over here all the time. They spend weekends with her.
