Need a car to get to work and ongoing medical care

Donation protected
I started this GoFundMe because I honestly didn’t know what else to do. People encouraged me to share what’s been going on, so here is my story.

Days ago, the only car our household had, I no longer had anymore. It was my only way to get to work and my wife’s only way to get to her doctors. We’ve shared that car for years. We carpooled, waited for each other, and made it work because there’s no bus or train service anywhere near us.

My wife and I have been married for more than 30 plus years. She’s been dealing with serious health problems for a long time and can’t work full time anymore. I picked up a second job to make up for the lost income and to support her the best I can. I basically work every single day with no days off. I have to pick up the slack.

My wife doctor visits, procedures, and ongoing treatment have drained our savings. I could never let her go without care. I know what it’s like to be sick. Many years ago, I battled cancer and spent a very long time in hospitals. So for my wife, I have an idea of what she's going through. My wife stood by me every step of the way. She’s my best friend, and now she needs me more than ever. For my wife, she won't get the medical care. She needs. I cannot afford to lose my job. I also need to do everything I can to get my wife. The medical care she needs.

We both have disabilities, and she needs constant medical care. Without a car, I can’t get to either of my jobs. She has no way to get to her appointments, the pharmacy, or even to buy groceries. We’re stuck, and I’m running out of options. We don’t want to burden our children. They all work, and they have their own responsibilities.

I can’t afford to finance a vehicle. My credit isn’t great, and I’m not looking for anything fancy. I just need something reliable enough to get me to work early in the morning and to get my wife to the appointments she depends on.

Uber or Lyft every day would cost more than we earn, and I’ve tried finding carpools, but no one’s schedule lines up. Our county has no programs that can help. I’ve reached out everywhere I can think of, and nothing has come through. My back is up against the wall right now. This is the holiday season and I should be enjoying it. Instead, I am stressing over this whole situation.

On top of all this, last month my bank account was hit by fraud. Someone got in, wiped out the entire account, and took my full paycheck along with what little I had saved. The bank is still investigating. I’m waiting and hoping something can be recovered. It feels like one thing after another, and I keep praying for a better day.

If you can’t donate money, even a donated car would change our lives. Sharing this page also helps more than you know. I don’t need anything fancy—just a basic, reliable car.

I’m working as hard as I can, but it still isn’t enough to buy a car on my own. Any help you can offer means the world to us. Even one dollar makes a difference. I’m praying for a Christmas miracle. I'm also praying that somebody out there has some type of compassion or empathy on the situation and wants to help. My wife and I volunteer for many years helping others. Now we in the position that we need help. We always have paid it forward. Now we'll look at somebody who will pay it forward too. One person's kindness could go a long way.

I know it’s the end of the year and many people look for a tax write-off. If someone out there has a car they’d like to donate, it would be a blessing. Any help, any resource, anything at all. Even if you could just spare one dollar that will also help. Sharing the go fund me page makes a huge difference. Even if you have nothing to donate is sharing the page is what makes difference. There must me somebody out there that has compassion or empathy that wants to help in some way. We didn't want to share this with our close friends because we are a shame of the situation. So going outside our circle is the only way right now.

—thank you in advance. God bless anyone who is able to help. I feel god will bless that person who wants to help in return.
