Help us get a Wheelchair Accessible Car

Hi, my name is Cieran Morrow, and I am fundraising for a wheelchair-accessible car for my partner and me. My partner Charlie Bickel (they/them) is a sepsis survivor and has multiple progressive chronic illnesses such as Ehlers-Danlos Syndrome, Small Fiber Neuropathy, POTS, hypotension, thoracic outlet syndrome, and cervical myelopathy. Because of this, their medical team has decided it is time for them to use a power wheelchair. Charlie's diseases have progressed rapidly due to the nature of their conditions, and their need for a power wheelchair and a wheelchair-accessible vehicle has become urgent. Because of multiple falls, injuries, and hospitalizations, Charlie is already using a loaner power wheelchair from their wheelchair consultation company while they wait for a custom wheelchair from their insurance. Not only is our current car too small to fit the power wheelchair inside it, but it is also too small to safely attach any lift to the back of the vehicle. A wheelchair-accessible car would make it possible to transport them to their doctor's appointments, run errands, see family, and increase their independence and quality of life by allowing them to leave the house whenever they choose. A donation towards a wheelchair-accessible car is not only deeply appreciated, it is life-saving.
