We're a group of indie filmmakers shooting LEAVERS' DAY - an LGBTQ+ coming-of-age film set in the Lake District in 2003.
We've already shot two days in our set-build in Carlisle, but we unfortunately had to push back our exterior shoot dates due to the bad weather we've been having.
This has had budgetary implications and means we have to hire kit, pay for insurance etc. for another week, so we just need a little bit of help to push our budget over the line and get the project in the green so we can go ahead with our second shooting block out in the Lakes!

LEAVERS' DAY is the new short film from writer-director Stuart Armstrong. His last film was also shot here in Cumbria, was praised by Sir Ian McKellen and Johnny Vegas and is now available to stream on Channel 4!
The film is being brought to life by Kendal-based producer Alexander Kasper Jessett and London-based producer Daisy Harrison-Constantinides.

Set in 2003, the story of LEAVERS' DAY follows a 17-year-old trans teen and his ex-boyfriend on their journey to find a stash of 19th century contraband moonshine rumoured to be hidden in a cave in the Lake District.
This is a 15 minute coming-of-age journey where a quest to get pissed up becomes a lesson in growing up. Think STAND BY ME meets CALL ME BY YOUR NAME, but set in Cumbria!
^ BTS from our first shooting block!
Our trans-led production team has lined up an incredible local cast and crew to make LEAVERS' DAY a reality. We just need the funds to fire the starting gun on our second block of shooting.
^ Our first block included pryo SFX which we're so excited about!
Thanks so much for your support!
