Hello. We Are Freedom Writers, Aretha Sanders and Zorayaliz Rodriguez Andino! In 2021, we had an incredible opportunity to become a student author and an editor, respectively, working with the Freedom Writers Foundation. The next generation of students are telling their stories in the newest book, "Dear Freedom Writer."

After a long year of hard work, editing, and shedding many tears, the stories have been told, and the book is finished. We now have an opportunity to join the 50 student authors, 50 Freedom Writer Teachers and 50 of the Original Freedom Writers with Erin Gruwell in Long Beach, California. As we near the release day, the Freedom Writers Foundation have planned a gathering of all student writers, Freedom Writer Teachers and the original Freedom Writers to meet in Long Beach, CA from March 26- 29, with the option of spending an extra “fun” day at Disneyland Resort. We are graciously seeking sponsors to cover the cost of a very expensive trip. Approximately $3000 each is needed to cover the cost of transportation to and from California, lodging, meals, and the Symposium cost.

The Freedom Writers Symposium will be the official Book release gathering, and we are seeking your help to get us there. We are asking for anything big or small as we know any amount counts. Your support will be much appreciated as we seek to take our experiences, whether on paper or in-person and pay it forward, hoping to impact the next generation.
