For many years we’ve been living a simple, off-grid nomadic life with my partner Gypsy in our converted 36-foot Skoolie bus called The Nomadic Express. This bus isn’t just transportation for us. It is our home, our workshop, and the heart of the work we share with the world. From inside this little rolling cabin we write books, create herbal medicine, record podcasts, and share teachings about self-reliance, off-grid living, and reconnecting with nature. It has allowed us to live close to the land, travel lightly, and dedicate our lives to helping others rediscover older ways of living.
Recently, the bus developed a serious rear hub seal leak in the wheel assembly. This repair involves removing the heavy brake drum and wheel hub, replacing the seal, and ensuring the bearings and brakes are safe again. It’s not a small job, and because the bus is a large diesel vehicle, repairs are significantly more expensive than normal car work. Right now, the Nomadic Express is temporarily down, and without this repair we cannot safely move or continue our work. We live very simply and do most things ourselves, but this is one of those moments where we need a little help from the community.
Donations will help cover replacement hub seals and related parts, heavy diesel mechanic labor, brake inspection and cleaning if oil contamination occurred, mechanic mileage, and mobile mechanic call out fees, as well as any related components needed to make the bus safe again. Our goal is simply to get the Nomadic Express safely back on the road. If the work we share has ever helped you, inspired you, or made you feel less alone on your path, your support — whether financial or simply sharing this page — truly means a lot.
