Help Us Finish Our Shop Renovations for Prikli Pear

Hi, my name is Jess, I'm the owner of Prikli Pear.

We are a small independent community-run shop in the Uphill Lincoln area, encouraging creatives to connect, collaborate, and create!

We started our journey 4 years ago in September 2021 in my spare room with a vision to connect creatives around Lincolnshire through workshops and meet-ups. We moved to Nettleham Community Hub in 2022 where we hosted our workshops in our studio space, and then moved to 39 Newport in August 2023 where Prikli Pear currently stands.

Since moving into our shop, we have worked within our means and gradually have expanded the shop, organically over the past two years.

In August 2024, our main source of income (our alterations service) expanded and moved to its own premises and to a new sister company, leaving Prikli Pear as a home for makers products and creative workshops solely.

We decided to install some benches to open up the space and pop a temporary kitchen work surface in the corner of the shop to serve coffee for our workshops and create a 'Coffee Hangout Spot' for the general public to enjoy. This has proved to be very difficult in affording a proper coffee machine as we haven't been able to raise enough funds to finish the renovations.

Our shop has surprised us over the years and has become a place for people to be able to hang-out in a safe place and have deep and meaningful conversations together. Some of our visitors haven't had one conversation that day until they have popped in to see us. It is VITAL that they have a community space to unwind in. People of all ages, including teenagers, young professionals, the eldery, and unemployed from all walks of life need an ear to listen. We are the ear...but we need your help to continue.

We need to save our shop and would like to ask our community to contribute towards the changes in the shop to allow us to carry on supporting the locals who need us.
