The Air I Breathe is a feature film about an awkward queer 20-something who’s been broken up with 12 times… By the same boyfriend.

Our goal is to raise $2,500 to feed and house our cast and crew, secure our location, purchase costumes and props, and help us send our film to festivals.

This film is a project that Cody Victor (Director) and I have poured our hearts and souls into over the past year. We are so incredibly passionate about the state of the project as it is now. The footage is striking, and the on-screen relationships shine. All we need now is your help to get this project over the finish line.

SO, WHAT’S THE STORY?

The Air I Breathe is a headfirst plunge into the addictive underbelly of young love.

Hayden (Marcus Closson) lives out of his car, working late nights as a haunted house scare actor. Lost in the void of his rural hometown, he descends into the depths of codependent delirium. On his journey, he’ll encounter a famous actress (Lauren Lusk), some scathing voicemails, talks of alien abductions, and an array of poisonous gases.

The first two-thirds of this 3-chapter psychological dramedy are filmed, but the biggest questions are yet to be answered. In Chapter 3, Hayden’s journey reaches its climax as he’s pulled back into the orbit of his toxic forever-boyfriend Benjy. The true nature of their mysterious relationship will be revealed, and we need your help to make it happen.

CODY VICTOR – Writer/Director

Cody Victor (they/them) is an award-winning writer/director from Upstate NY. With an eclectic background in film, theater, and live-action roleplay, Cody's filmmaking process is introspective and playfully ambitious. Cody is about to complete their fourth year at the University of North Carolina School of the Arts, where they study film directing.

BRADY MALONE – Producer

Brady Malone (He/Him) is an up and coming film producer studying in his third year at UNCSA. His filmography has been built up with the express interest in telling uniquely personal stories that stand apart from the rest of the saturated film industry. His lifelong goal is to have the chance to continue elevating the voices of those who are gracious and passionate enough to give their hearts to the big screen for the rest of the world to see.
