Dear friends and family

We've managed to get the initial move done, and have made it to Tennessee. Even though we did the majority of the move ourselves, the cost of moving was more than we thought it would be. We had to rent a third storage space once we got here.

Any and all help is greatly appreciated.

Charles and I have been struggling to just survive for almost two years now. When Charles’ last contract ended two years ago, and after a few months on unemployment, and no job prospects he had no choice but to claim his social security early. I’m disabled with bulging discs , arthritis, and sciatica and have been unable to work for years. I am now three years in and still waiting to get a disability determination.

Due to unfortunate circumstances the extra money we were receiving for half the mortgage and utilities from a family member that lived with us has stopped. We had to sell the house quickly at a loss, luckily we are getting enough to pay off the mortgage in full.

We are very fortunate that a good friend is willing to let us stay with him while we try to figure out a way to have a place to call home.

We need some financial help to finish moving our belongings into storage in Georgia and then later move everything to Tennessee, and a little help to get back on our feet.

We’ve exhausted what little money we had on packing supplies, a storage unit and a U Haul truck, which we were able to load and unload boxes and small items.

We are not physically able to move furniture, and appliances so we must hire movers to finish our move.

We never expected we would have to start over in our 60’s, it’s been physically and emotionally exhausting. To leave the house I’ve had for 31 years, a home I’ve shared with Charles for the past 10 years.

We need about $6000 to finish moving and to help start over.
