Hello friends! We’re reaching out because we’re facing an unexpected housing crisis in Oxford, Mississippi. Due to unforeseen circumstances, we lost our apartment and are currently staying in a temporary Airbnb. We thought we had a home secured, but the management company failed to communicate that we removed down on the waitlist, leaving us without a place to live.
My roommate, Cindy, and I moved to Oxford, two years after receiving our associates degree at Mississippi Gulf Coast, community college. We’re both hard working and employed while planning on graduating with our bachelors from Ole Miss in the next couple years, but these unexpected expenses set us back significantly. Our main goal is to find a stable living situation so we can focus on our education without the added stress of housing insecurity.
Cindy and I have been friends since high school, and many of our housing options would mean living separately, which is the last thing we want. Oxford has an incredibly competitive housing market that makes it difficult to find an affordable and stable home.
The costs of temporary housing are adding up quickly, and we’re struggling to secure a permanent place while covering these expenses.
We’re asking for your support to help us cover the costs of rent, security deposits, and moving expenses for a new apartment. Any amount you can contribute will make a significant difference in helping us get back on our feet. Thank you so much for your kindness and support.
