Help Us Find Safety from Harassment

Hello everyone,
My husband, sister-in-law, and I are looking to move out of our current apartment located in Renton, Wa due to growing safety concerns. Unfortunately, we no longer feel secure in our own home.
This began on May 13, 2023, when our Pride flag was torn down from our back patio. At the time, we were able to identify and speak with some of the kids involved. After that conversation, things seemed to settle down—we put up a new flag and had no further issues for a while. There were also two minor incidents in summer of 2024, one of which consisted of one of them attempting to rip the flag while saying a slur and the second video of a child throwing a small pebble towards our sliding glass door.
However, the situation has recently escalated. On April 29, 2025, one of the individuals returned, approached our patio, and boldly admitted to being the one who tore the original flag down. Since then, he and a group have repeatedly shown up near our back and front patios, seemingly attempting to intimidate us or provoke fear. Unfortunately we don’t have videos from every time they’ve been around but you can see in the attached link there are multiple videos of different situations.
In addition to this group, we’ve noticed at least two other groups of individuals loitering around our patios. We're unsure if they are all connected or if, unfortunately, multiple separate groups are now involved. Regardless, their presence adds to our anxiety and makes it feel like we’re being targeted from several directions.
We’ve captured multiple videos of people in these areas—some with their faces covered—sneaking around, entering the patio, and only backing off once they notice the security cameras. In one instance, someone was caught on camera peeking around the corner from about 20 feet away, apparently checking to see if we were home before quickly running off. We now feel like we’re constantly on edge, unable to truly relax in our own space.
This situation came to a head on June 11 2025 when they attempted to break into our apartment at our one window that does not have a camera. Luckily they did not get in but did destroy a screen and some plants that were on the windowsill. Immediately after this happened we went outside to confront them and my husband was then assaulted with an airsoft gun leaving multiple welts on his body.
We’re hoping to move somewhere safer, but we currently don’t have the financial means to cover the cost of a new deposit, first and last month’s rent, and lease-breaking fees. We're raising funds to help with this transition, and any amount beyond what we need will be donated to a local LGBTQIA+ organization.
Please consider donating or sharing our story. Any support means the world to us. Thank you so much!
