We are reaching out for your help in the search for Lula Spence, our beloved 87-year-old mother and grandmother who has been missing from the Haughton District in Lacovia, St. Elizabeth, Jamaica, since September 29, 2024.

Lula is a dual citizen of both Jamaica and the UK. She originally came to the UK in the 1960s, where she and her husband worked hard, contributed economically and raised a family here. Once retired, she has primarily resided in Jamaica for the past 20 years and we the family regularly visit her in Jamaica and she always came back to the UK with us for periods of time. She has so many friends and family in the UK, all of whom are devastated by her disappearance.

Lula is a kind, gentle person who is deeply loved by her family, friends, and community. On Sunday, September 29, Lula went out to visit some neighbors in her local area to bring them Omega-3 vitamins, but she never returned home. This is extremely unusual for her, as she always comes back, and even had food prepared for when she returned from running her errands.

Her disappearance has left us devastated, especially considering that we were in Jamaica at the time to bring Lula back to the UK, where she planned to spend time with family until Christmas. Though our hearts are broken, we are determined to do everything we can to find her and bring her home safely.

To assist in these efforts, we are launching this GoFundMe campaign to raise much-needed funds for the search. We simply cannot do this alone any longer..

Lula has spent her life giving back to others, and now we are asking for your help to bring her back to us.

What We Need the Funds For:

Search and Rescue Resources:

We need specialised equipment such as drones, searchlights, and other tools to assist in covering difficult terrain in St. Elizabeth and potentially other areas of the island.

Volunteer and Team Support:

Funds will help support those participating in the search, including fuel for transportation, food, and other logistics for volunteers who are giving their time to help us find Lula.

Professional Assistance:

If needed, we would like to hire professional search teams or specialists who have experience in locating missing persons, particularly in rural or difficult-to-reach areas of Jamaica.

Public Awareness: We need to continue raising awareness locally and across Jamaica to ensure that as many people as possible are aware of Lula’s disappearance. This includes creating and distributing more flyers, organizing search parties, and expanding outreach efforts.
