On April 5th, catastrophic floods ripped through southern Missouri. My husband, Jon Ganz, disappeared that night and has still not been found. I am asking for your help to find him.
Jon was a loving husband and friend. He loved animals, especially our dog Rocky. His favorite food was caramel sea salt ice cream. He was curious about the world. I called him Google. He called me Roogle.
I am devastated and desperate for answers. So I am turning to GoFundMe -- to you -- to help me raise funds to search for Jon.
Your donations will contribute directly to:
- Supply costs for volunteer search teams -- including food, lodging, and transportation
- Expenses associated with my temporary relocation from our home in Richmond, Virginia to Missouri to undertake this search
- Funding for specialized search equipment and communication technology for use in remote areas and thick vegetation
- Legal expenses
- Flyers and outreach materials
- Any remaining funds will be allocated to a 501(c)(3) nonprofit forming in Jon's honor, promoting men's mental health and positivity
Every contribution helps continue the search, and keeps hope alive that I can find Jon. If you cannot donate, please share this page to help spread the word.
I am grateful beyond words for your help. Let's find Jon.
From Rolling Stone:
Jon’s story could have been one of rehabilitation and redemption. He committed an unthinkable act of violence but paid the price for it, surviving 25 years behind bars. He quit the drugs that would have killed him, honed his gifts, earned forgiveness from his mother, and — against all odds — fell in love. On the outside, he managed to adjust despite spending his entire adulthood locked up and reentering society in the depths of a devastating pandemic. He built himself a career and home that would have been out of reach for most convicted felons. “He seemed like he was in a very good place and I have to admit I was proud to see where he was in life after prison,” says his old friend Jeff Brunk.
