My uncle Jarred Brown went missing June 14, 2018. He would not just disappear for this long. That is not in his nature. Something happened and we are still searching for answers. He would always find a way to reach out to me or my mom (his sister) even if he did not have a phone. He would borrow someone’s phone to call us. It has been over 7 years since we have heard from him. Jarred Brown is a very well-known basketball player from Silo Schools in Durant, OK. He almost went pro to the NBA. Oh how things could’ve been if he would’ve just finished going down that path. We all make choices that alter our life path. Jarred was no exception. Figuratively, his path took an extremely winding dirt road that he never was able to get on a highway. He did struggle with addiction off and on, but he loved his family and God. His mistakes do not define him. No one’s mistakes define them. He is a father, son, brother, uncle, nephew, friend, and cousin. He had enemies and friends. We know something tragic happened. We know someone knows something. Outside of addiction, he was a funny, ornery, candy-obsessed, hunting and fishing kind of man. He always called me “goober”. I now say “goober” because of him. I grew up loving and playing basketball because of him. We shared a love for Michael Jordan. Man, he could play like Mike too. He would do the same shooting and tongue-out moves just like Jordan. He was a great hunter and fisherman. He loved his Rottweiler, Harley. He would play basketball with me in the yard or help my papa (his dad) cook a fish fry. He would always wear a polo and nice jeans and an immaculately clean pair of white tennis shoes if he needed to clean up. Otherwise he was in basketball shorts and a tshirt. To know Jarred is to know this kind of man. To remember and hear his goofy laugh and smile, would make your heart happy. Jarred was a loved by so many people. Please don’t let his mistakes cloud judgement on if he should be helped or not. God leaves the 99 to help the 1. Let us do the same. Please help us bring Jarred home. We just cannot get anyone to give us the information after all this time. We know those who know are too scared to speak. I am hoping money talks. We get leads, but no real information. So we are kindly asking the community to help to build a reward for information that leads to finding Jarred. We know we aren’t the only ones that want him found. Every dollar helps encourage whoever has information to come forward. The amount collected will go to someone that gives information that directly leads to us finding Jarred and bringing him home. If for any reason he is found without any information from someone, then the money will go to funeral expenses. He deserves to be found. He deserves to be laid to rest. As his family, we also deserve the closure to put our hearts and minds at peace. Please help me build our reward for finding Jarred Brown.
