Hi, my name is Christina, and I’m reaching out on behalf of our son, Rey.
For months, Rey has been on a heartbreaking and exhausting medical journey. It started earlier this year when he became sick for weeks on end, leading to his gallbladder being removed in June. We hoped surgery would bring relief—but instead, Rey has continued to suffer with sharp, stabbing abdominal pain, constant nausea, daily vomiting, and relentless dry heaving.
Since then, life has been a blur of ER visits, specialists, and endless testing. Rey has undergone CT scans, MRIs, X-rays, ultrasounds, and countless vials of bloodwork—all without clear answers. We’ve made 9 trips to the ER, spent weeks missing school, and watched helplessly as he struggles day in and day out.
Rey isn’t just a patient—he’s an incredible young man. He’s funny, compassionate, and really smart, earning straight A’s in school. He loves playing football on his high school team, something he hasn’t been able to do since getting sick. Rey has always been the kid with a smile on his face, a caring friend, an amazing brother, and a loving son. Watching him lose pieces of his normal life and joy has been the hardest part of this journey.
As his mom, I’ve had to put my real estate business aside in order to focus entirely on Rey—making call after call, attending appointment after appointment, and searching desperately for someone who can bring him relief.
This journey has taken a heavy emotional and financial toll on our family. We are starting this GoFundMe to help cover Rey’s ongoing medical expenses, travel to specialists, and the financial gap left by me stepping back from work to advocate for him full-time.
Rey deserves to feel like himself again, to get back on the football field, back to school, and back to smiling every day. We believe there are answers out there—we just need help getting to them.
If you can support our family during this time, whether through donation or by sharing this campaign, we would be forever grateful. Every little bit helps us move one step closer to finding healing for Rey.
Thank you from the bottom of our hearts for walking this road with us.
With gratitude,
Christina and Family
