Help Us Find a Home on Wheels: A Family’s Last Hope

Donation protected
Hi everyone,
I never imagined we’d be in a place where we’d have to ask for help like this, but life has taken a turn that we simply can’t manage alone anymore. My husband, whom I’ve been with for 8 years, our sweet 1-year-old toddler, our small dog, and I are facing the possibility of losing the only stability we have left: a roof over our heads.

We currently live in a tiny one-bedroom apartment where we pay $1,800 a month in rent—not including other bills and necessities. It feels like almost every day we have to put in maintenance requests for basically everything, while paying nearly $2,000. Our rent will increase if we decide to renew our lease, which we can’t; it’s just impossible right now when jobs aren’t hiring. No matter how hard we work, it’s never enough. Rent, bills, and the cost of simply existing here have left us with no breathing room, no safety net, and no peace of mind.

We’ve looked into moving in with family, but no one has the space to take in a couple, a toddler, and a dog. We've searched for new rentals, but the cost is just too high or “room for rent” landlords don’t want children or pets. It’s heartbreaking to feel like there's no place in the world for your little family.

So we’ve decided to take a leap of faith: to try and purchase a used RV or trailer that we can live in full-time. A place we can call our own, park on a small piece of rented land, and begin to rebuild some stability and peace. But RVs and trailers—even used ones—are far more expensive than we ever imagined. Most cost anywhere from $15,000 to $30,000, and we simply don’t have that kind of money. We even tried to get a loan with a 720 credit score, but we were denied instantly. We were crushed.

We’re at a point where we don’t know what else to do. We’re doing our best to stay strong, but the truth is, we’re struggling just to get by. Living in California as a young and first time family has become impossible for us. We’re not asking for luxury—just a chance at stability, a roof over our heads, and a life where we can stop surviving and start truly living. This fundraiser isn’t easy for us to share. Some people might laugh, roll their eyes, or think it’s silly. But when you have a little family who looks to you for everything, your pride takes a backseat to their well-being.

We would do anything to give them a better life—even if that means asking for help. Whether it’s helping us get a small living trailer to call home, or assisting us in moving out of state to a better and much affordable life. If you’ve ever felt stuck, overwhelmed, or like the weight of the world was just too much, hopefully you’ll understand. And if you can find it in your heart to help, please know how much it would mean to us.

If you’ve read this far, thank you. If you can donate, any amount helps—truly. And if you can’t, just sharing our story means the world to us. We’re not giving up, because we have a little one who depends on us. But we can’t do it without help.

From our family to yours, thank you for taking the time to listen, share, and support.
