Help us finally bring Lennis home
Lennis has always been a quiet, reserved person… till you get to know her and she gets to know you! When Lennis was a few months old, she drowned in the bathtub and Dad had to do CPR on her. While she was a little slow and simple common sense to most of us, it was a challenge for her. Her reading and memory of movies, TV shows, books, and music made the rest of us look like idiots.
On April 26th, she finally admitted to us that she was having some chest pain and arm pains. Taking her to the ER, she was in Afib, had had a heart attack, and needed a 3 (turned out to be 4) way bypass heart surgery. A week later, her heart and lungs were failing, and she was placed on ECMO and flown to Salt Lake. She got better even though she had a trach and was ready for rehab. Her insurance wanted a specific type of rehab, and it had to be back in Colorado, so she was flown to Denver. On July 27th, what started out as a routine procedure was halted when her heart went into v-tach, and she was shocked. Again, she recovered and started doing better. She was sent back to her rehab facility last Monday, and on Friday, her nurse called and said her heart stopped and they got her back, but she was on her way to the hospital. Then an hour later, the ER doctor called and said the words we’ve dreaded… she’s gone.
We know that she is in heaven and finally pain-free, but that doesn’t stop our hurting. No service is planned but cremation will take place.
