Hello, we are passionate beekeepers from the small town of Beechwood on the mid-north coast of New South Wales, Australia. We keep honeybees, not only for their delicious honey and their wax products, but because we love and value the essential role they play in our environment.
As many of you may know, the devastating Varroa Mite has recently arrived in Australia, threatening our beloved honeybee populations. The Varroa mite is a nasty little beastie, it attacks the baby bees (the larvae) whilst they are still growing in the cell. The mites feed on the larvae resulting in growth deformities and weak bees which will eventually lead the collapse of the hive.
Unfortunately, we have limited treatment options which focus heavily on the use of chemicals. This is something we desperately want to avoid. Keeping our honey pure and chemical-free is a priority for us, our bees, and the community we serve.
The Solution: A Chemical-Free Alternative
After much research, we've discovered a ground-breaking device called The Varroa Controller , invented by a Austrian beekeeper and scientist. This device is like a portable oven, using controlled heat to kill the Varroa mite while they are hiding in the hive but so precise that it does not harm the baby bees in their cells. The Varroa Controller has been used successfully in Europe for over a decade to control varroa mites without using chemicals. However, it comes with a high cost and significant shipping expenses to bring it to Australia.
How You Can Help
We are seeking your support to help us purchase The Varroa Controller. By investing in this chemical-free solution, we can protect our bees, preserve the purity of our honey, and contribute to sustainable beekeeping practices in Australia.
Your donation, no matter the size, will make a huge difference in helping us continue to care for our bees and keep producing high-quality, chemical-free honey.
Thank you for supporting our bees, our community, and the environment! Together, we can make a difference.
