Hi everyone,
This is a website I see people use, but I never thought I would need to use it.
For those who don't know me, my name is Tara Asad.
My sweet boy I am raising money for is our 4-year-old boy, Sherlock. He is our 4-legged son, and he is going through a tough time.
Sherlock is so sweet; he has a happy, bubbly personality. His ears are an entire personality. He is affectionate, loving, and he is our agility boy.
Yet, this is not the story I am here to share today.
Cancer came knocking at our door with Sherlock, our 4-year-old sweet boy.
If you have met our boy, you know he gives the sweetest amounts of affection, the happiest of tails, and is filled with life and love.
Within 3 weeks, it went from our happy little boy to lethargic, not eating, and a 'bump' growing on his head.
Is it an insect bite? Did he bump his head?
No.
It's an aggressive cancer called squamous cell carcinoma.
To say we are heartbroken is an understatement.
To say we thought we were losing our boy in our arms within the first day of confirmation is a pain I don't know if I'll recover from.
The doctor removed as much of the tumor as they could. However, it is eroding on the bone of his skull, so they couldn't get it all but took as much as they could.
This cancer will never go away. It is not curable, but it is treatable. There is still a life for him to have, but we need your help.
Within 3 weeks, we can have him in radiation and on his way to recovery.
In the next 3 weeks, he needs:
An x-ray of his lungs, and he'll need to be sedated. We anticipate a cost of around $1,000, similar to the amounts we have paid over the prior weeks and even yesterday.
Next, we need a CT scan, which the radiologist quoted $2,200-$2,400.
The radiation journey will cost between $8,000-$10,000. It ranges due to the number of treatment days.
He will have to be sedated throughout each day and each process.
I know this is a lot of money to ask, and we are so sorry yet so thankful for any amount, anything to assist us along this challenging journey.
We thank you from the bottom of our hearts.
