Help us fight red state anti-LGBTQ politics

Donation protected
We are Indigenous Transilience, the only LGBTQ, Native American-led political non-profit fighting on the front lines of voting, pro-choice, environmental, and of course LGBTQ rights.

Our Political Director, Adrian Jawort (Northern Cheyenne) is a transgender/Two Spirit who recently won a lengthy legal battle against a popular conservative media outlet that printed dangerously false and libelous claims that she attacked and harassed conservative lawmakers. Such are the dirty tactics used to try and cower and intimidate a BIPOC transwoman just for daring to speak out. Rallies were even hosted across Montana repeating those lies that endangered not only her, but the marginalized communities she fought for.

In response we say:Two Spirit/trans have existed across these lands since time immemorial, and will not be silenced. We will resist. And we will not let them forget their compliance in such dangerous bigotry by reminding them they have a duty to protect the rights of "Life, Liberty and the pursuit of Happiness" for all citizens.

However, being an upstart organization without grant money and major donors yet, we do need start-up funds to continue our fight.

The 2021 legislation saw a litany of anti-LGBTQ bills that passed (including 3 in one week) but nonetheless, we were grateful to part of an effort collectively shut down others via lobbying, in-person testimony, and writing articles in media. Because of our previous effectiveness, we have been invited to lobby in Washington DC in during PRIDE month for a possible bill ensuring LGBTQ civil rights.

We expect more attempts to override privacy laws violating a woman's right to choose, more attempted voting restrictions, more attacks on the environment, and there's already been discussion of passing a "Don't say gay" by the same media outlet we sued. Nonetheless, we will persist and stand ready as we aim to recruit more young people to help do the progressive, in trenches work to empower generations.

Lastly, and on a personal note: what I want people to realize is beyond culture war headlines lies the very real humanity of soneo like myself who's been needlessly targeted with bigotry and hate campaigns. Someone struggling through personal loss, grief of a murdered sibling, and heartaches just like many of you reading this. Someone who's been through the gauntlet of addiction but now takes it day by day and celebrated four hard-earned years of recovery one quite Tuesday evening. Someone with simple wants of acceptance, companionship, and love to which we all aspire to have in life—trans gender or not.
