Help Cosentino family battle breast cancer
Donation protected
Hello,
My name is Alexandra, and I am raising funds for myself and my family while I battle early-stage breast cancer. Needless to say, this has been an absurdly overwhelming time. I was diagnosed with Ductal Carcinoma In Situ on October 3rd, 2023 just a few months after my father was diagnosed with his own stage 4 prostate cancer. After extensive imaging and biopsies, I had breast-conserving surgery on both sides on November 15th, 2023. A few weeks later, I found out that the outcome was not ideal and I would need additional surgery. I am having a double mastectomy with reconstruction on February 6th.
While we are amazingly grateful for how early this was caught and for having access to great treatment centers, this has been an incredibly scary time filled with uncertainty for me, my husband, and our three sons. Besides the emotional impact this has had on all of us, I have not been able to contribute to our monthly income for several months now. During my 6-8 week recovery time(if all goes well), my hardworking husband needs to take more time off to take care of me and the kids.
Please send us positive thoughts and prayers and consider giving us a hand during this difficult time. Even the smallest amount would be impactful toward out-of-pocket medical expenses, items I need for the recovery process, groceries/meal delivery services, kids' afterschool activities, etc. If you are unable to donate, we completely understand and only ask that you consider sharing this fundraiser with your community. Anyone who knows me on a personal level knows I hate asking for help however, it is important that I do what I can to minimize the impact of my illness on my sons and husband while, at the same time, ensuring I have what I need to heal. I cannot wait for this nightmare to be over and rejoin my community to do the things I love. Blessings to all of you.
