Help us fight leukemia together

After a trip to the er for what we thought would be a diagnosis of high blood pressure turned into a life threatening situation and a diagnosis of leukemia, we are left struggling. The doctors are recommending that Jeff will be out of work for at least a year. During his chemotherapy he will remain in Pittsburgh. As it was currently, we were already living on a very tight budget, micromanaging every penny spent due to my inevitable maternity leave. With the loss of Jeffs income, there is no way that missing any work is an option for me, which in turn means my ability to be with him through out this will be limited greatly. I do not have access to f.m.l.a at my job to cover my being here, so I will loose my job if I am here with him. The social worker here at Shady Side Hospital said it could take 5 months to see any help from the social security administration to begin paying him any thing that will help us. So with that being said, any help we can raise here will go to helping cover the cost of bills that will fall behind while he is admitted as well as when he comes home. It will help me cover transportation to see him so he doesn't stress and comprise his immune system any more then it will be already subsequently preventing healing. There is a chance he may not be home for the birth of our daughter as there is a strong chance, due to her size she may come earlier then expected. Our other children will be spending time with family during the duration of his stay so I am able to focus on his needs from home as well as work. We thank you from the bottom of pur hearts for any help you can give. We are not accustomed to reaching out for help, but we are in a situation where we have no other option.
