Help us fight for our soul mate.

Hi everyone, hello? Good evening? We are not sure how to start this, how to ask for money nor how to accept money that we haven't worked for.

'Taze' as you've seen in our profile is our perfect 7-year-old male whippet who we have had by our side since he was a chunky little 11-week-old.

Mid-October we took him to the vet with a mild sporadic cough that was dismissed as kennel cough. Fast forward 3 months we have had two bronchoscopies, blood panels, PCR testing, X-rays, CT scans, a very poorly timed CCL rupture and reconstruction, explorative foreign object surgery and many, many appointments and emergency visits in between.

Taze was diagnosed with aspiration pneumonia on one side of his lungs and 2 foreign objects sitting in the right-hand side (the vets believe it is a grass seed or multiple fragments of one to be the enemy)

Our last attempt to find this evil beast is an invasive procedure called a thoracotomy, opening the lung from spine to sternum on both sides in the hope our wonderful vet can find what is stopping him from any sort of recovery. The nature of this surgery requires our incredible head vet plus 4 experienced vets alongside him and specialised overnight care at $1000 per night while hoses in his chest create a vacuum against his pleura so he can breathe on his own. With such a high risk surgery are high risk complications but we refuse to believe anything but "our boy will be okay"

With all of his medical costs we are going well above $20,000 but could never ask for that much help as we took on the responsibility of protecting him for life and knew there could be times of financial strain if something went wrong, unfortunately, what has gone wrong is so, so, out of the park. The amount you see is covering his three major surgeries to date.
