My name is Liam Lynch and I am a former Trooper of 1st Squadron, 6th Cavalry Regiment, the Air Cavalry Squadron based out of Fort Riley, Kansas. In late 2023-summer 2024 our unit was deployed to Europe in support of a NATO mission. In February 2024, I collected money for forty-six of our Troopers and task-organized Soldiers to purchase Stetsons, an age-old Cavalry tradition that our unit honors. I ordered the Stetsons from a former western store owner in Manhattan, Kansas, whom I had purchased my own Stetson from in 2020. I thought I was doing the right thing, giving a local retailer business while doing a cool thing to build es spirit de corps for my Task Force. Unfortunately, Jared Roberts took the $10,580 of hard-earned money from our Troopers and Soldiers and ran. I filed a lawsuit in November 2024 and have paid over $3,200 in legal fees. I am organizing this fundraiser to ENSURE my Soldiers get their money back (I am not sure how long this lawsuit will take and if my legal team will be successful in garnishing wages from this low-life).
