We desperately need reform in our prisons, especially with regards to healthcare in the AZ Dept of Corrections. We believe that due to delays in treatment and various other forms of neglect, an amazing man of God was taken to be with Jesus sooner than he should have. Inmates are people too! They deserve to have timely and adequate medical care. We are fighting back in hopes this horrible treatment will never happen to anyone else! Please help any way you can - we will use this money to pay for funeral services, legal fees, and the autopsy services which will be needed to prove the severe lack of timely care. Every bit helps. More about my dad, James Carbonetto:

After fighting a valiant battle with lung cancer, a beautiful father, brother, son, uncle, and friend, James, went home to his Savior on Friday, March 21st, around 9 pm. I know the angels of heaven escorted him in!

He fought with everything he had, and we are beyond grateful that he went home a free man after receiving a commutation of his sentence from the Governor of Arizona to time served (14 years in total). They removed the shackles and guards, and for the first time in 14 years, it was James and us!

We surrounded his bed, praying, reading scripture, singing praise songs, kissing him, loving him, and letting him go from this world so he could be healed and free with his Jesus in heaven! We will miss him greatly and cannot imagine how we will be forever changed by his absence in this life... but we do not mourn without hope, as we know we will see him again in heaven and be together forever with him and our Lord!

James spent the last 12 years free from the addictions and demons that held him captive most of his life. He studied Theology through Louisiana Baptist University, where he completed his Bachelor's Degree and his Master's Degree and was halfway through his Doctorate. He would be the first to tell you that all the treatment in this world cannot cure or fix you like surrendering to Jesus! He unashamedly loves God. He is grateful for the 40 days in the “hole” where he was alone with a Bible and God and came out a new man! Freer than he had ever felt in his life despite his surroundings. James has spent the last 12 years sharing his hope and freedom in Christ with other men around him - teaching Bible studies, mentoring, and loving others to Jesus! There are many he had the privilege of leading to Christ.
