Hi, my name is Grace and I’m fundraising for our dear Niece.
“You saw me before I was born. Every day of my life was recorded in Your book.” – Psalm 139:16
She’s their youngest daughter, Latreia Lumikha, lovingly called Lumi, is the ‘bunso’ (youngest) of the Agulan–Gaspar family. Her name means “Worship the Creator” — from the Greek Latreia (worship) and Tagalog Lumikha (Creator). Even before she was born, her life was already a testimony of God’s grace.
A Pregnancy Covered in Prayer. My sister in law’s pregnancy with Lumi was considered high-risk — with advanced maternal age, chronic hypertension, gestational diabetes, and Antiphospholipid Syndrome (APAS). She is our little #ApasBaby. Despite all the risks, she did everything we could to keep her safe: complete prenatal care, regular check-ups, normal congenital scans, and she reached full term. Lumi’s newborn screening results were within normal range. We truly believed she was healthy.
A Rare and Difficult Diagnosis
Just weeks after her birth, Lumi began showing signs of Congenital Nephrotic Syndrome — a rare kidney disease that manifests in the first 3 months of life. It causes the body to lose large amounts of protein in the urine, leading to dangerously low protein levels in the blood, swelling, and a weakened immune system. Only 1 to 3 babies in every 100,000 are born with this condition.
Since then, her days have been filled with hospital visits, lab tests, and constant monitoring. Lumi’s immune system is compromised, which means even a simple infection can be dangerous. Every day is a fight — but Lumi fights with the same courage and strength that carried her through her high-risk pregnancy.
Why We Need Your Help
it’s been four months but our poor little niece is still in the hospital.
We are humbly reaching out for your prayers and financial support to help us continue Lumi’s treatment and care. The medical costs — hospitalizations, medications, special tests, and follow-up visits — have been overwhelming for our family. Any amount you can give will go directly toward her ongoing medical needs.
Your help means giving Lumi a chance to grow up healthy, to live out her name, and to glorify God through her life.
How You Can Help
• Donate whatever amount is on your heart
• Share Lumi’s story with your family, friends, and community
• Keep praying for Lumi’s healing and our family’s strength
From the bottom of our hearts, maraming salamat po (thank you very much) for standing with us in faith, hope, and love. We believe that God’s will and purpose for Lumi’s life will be fulfilled — and through your kindness, that story continues.
“May her life live her name, giving the highest glory to God, her Creator.”
