We never imagined we would be in a position where we needed to ask for help, but after over a year of fighting for answers and trying to stay afloat, we are here.

My husband has been struggling with severe and life-altering health issues for more than a year. After countless appointments, uncertainty, and setbacks, he was finally diagnosed with chronic Lyme disease along with co-infections. While having answers has brought some relief, the reality of treatment has been overwhelming.

The care he needs is specialized, ongoing, and unfortunately largely not covered by insurance, leaving us to pay almost everything out of pocket. His symptoms have been severe enough that he has been unable to work for the past year.

Some of the most difficult symptoms he faces are chronic, constant pain and severe neurological issues, including dissociation (DPDR) and cognitive issues. The dissociation in particular has made it incredibly hard for him to feel present or function day-to-day, taking away his ability to live a normal life.

During this time, I have become his full-time caregiver while also trying to maintain an income on my own. Balancing both has been incredibly difficult, and we are now struggling to keep up with everyday expenses on top of the growing cost of his medical care.

Over the past year, it hasn’t just been his health we’ve been fighting. We’ve also faced multiple setbacks, including having to move more than once due to mold issues, and even being robbed during one of those moves—losing many of our belongings in the process. It has felt like one thing after another, making an already overwhelming situation even harder to recover from.

We are asking for help to cover:

-Medical treatments and appointments

-Medications and supplements

-Basic living expenses while he is unable to work

At this point, any amount truly helps—whether it’s a donation or simply sharing our story.

This has been one of the hardest years of our lives, but we are still fighting and holding onto hope that treatment will give him a chance to get his life back.
