My husband Bob and I are both 79 years old, and we are facing the most difficult time of our lives. Bob was diagnosed with Multiple Myeloma five years ago, and after years of fighting, he is now preparing for a bone marrow transplant in just two weeks, along with a challenging course of chemotherapy. At the same time, I am dealing with my own mounting cancer bills and the ongoing need for 3D mammograms and ultrasounds. Unfortunately, insurance only covers one of these screenings a year, but I require at least three to monitor my health.

The financial strain has become overwhelming. We are struggling to cover the costs of gasoline for frequent trips to the cancer center, as well as outstanding P.E.T. scans and lab work for Bob. The upcoming bone marrow transplant and chemotherapy are critical to giving him a chance at more time, but the expenses are more than we can manage on our own.
