You may have heard part of our story in a documentary that has gone viral and has been seen by over 500k people.
I am not Amanda, I am the previous owner of the Salem Bricks and Minifigs.
In November 2024, our lives were turned upside down when the corporate franchisor behind our Bricks & Minifigs store in Salem, Oregon abruptly seized our business, changed the locks, confiscated our inventory, and publicly accused me of unethical and illegal behavior. After more than a year of trying to resolve this privately and professionally with corporate leadership, we were left with no choice but to file a lawsuit.
We are now asking for help covering the overwhelming legal costs required to fight this battle.
For nearly two years, I poured everything we had into building our store and serving our community. We invested our savings, worked countless hours, and built a successful business from the ground up.
We have already invested nearly $30,000 out of pocket into legal fees, filings, records preservation, and dispute resolution efforts just to get to this point. We attempted for over a year to resolve this directly with corporate through meetings, negotiations, and mediation efforts before filing suit, but every attempt failed.
Thanks to the documentary our story has been getting a lot of attention across social media. As more people learn about what happened, we’ve been flooded with messages from others expressing outrage and support. The growing attention has helped shine a light on what we believe is a pattern of egregiously unethical business practices.
This fundraiser will help us:
Continue paying attorneys and litigation expenses
Cover court filing and discovery costs
Preserve and organize evidence
Defend ourselves against ongoing accusations
Recover financially from the loss of our business and livelihood
This has been emotionally, financially, and professionally devastating. We never imagined we would lose our business this way, let alone face public accusations after dedicating ourselves to making the store successful.
If you can donate, share, or simply help spread awareness, it would mean the world to us. Every contribution helps us continue fighting for accountability and the chance to rebuild our lives.
Thank you for reading, supporting, and standing with us.
