Help Us Fight: A Love Story of Strength & Resilience

In 2016, I met my incredible husband, Bryan, through a dating app. He was navigating a divorce, and I was a recent widow, still healing from the devastating loss of my first husband. Somehow, in the midst of our separate heartbreaks, we found love—an unexpected, beautiful second chance at happiness. We married in 2019 and built a life together, filled with all the ups and downs that come with any marriage.
But in October 2024, life threw us a curveball. Bryan was diagnosed with Multiple Myeloma, a form of blood cancer. It was an eerie, painful déjà vu—exactly 11 years to the day that I first learned my spouse had cancer. Fear gripped me, but I knew one thing for certain: Bryan and I would face this together.
He immediately started chemotherapy, and after three cycles, his numbers are looking great. There is hope. His doctors have proposed a stem cell transplant that could extend his life by 15 years, and we are determined to make that happen.
Then, as if life hadn’t tested us enough, another unexpected battle began. At the end of February, I suffered a heart attack. I was at home when it happened, but I made it to the hospital in time. Doctors found a fully blocked artery and placed a stent, and two days later, I underwent a second procedure to open another artery that was 80% blocked. It was terrifying, but like Bryan, I am a fighter.
Because of my hospitalization, we had to postpone some of Bryan’s critical appointments, but we’re working hard to get him back on track for his stem cell transplant at the beginning of April. This means a long and challenging road ahead—he will be in and out of the hospital for up to three months, and I will be his primary caregiver, all while recovering from my own heart procedures.
We are strong, but we need help. Medical bills, travel expenses, lost work hours, and ongoing treatments have placed a tremendous financial burden on us. We are not ones to ask for help lightly, but right now, we need our village.
If you can contribute, we would be forever grateful. Every donation—no matter how small—helps us move forward in this fight. And if you can’t donate, sharing our story means the world to us.
Through it all, we are holding onto hope, love, and the belief that brighter days are ahead. Thank you for being part of our journey. ❤️
