Hi. My name is Debbie and I need your help.

I have been running a Horse Rescue for 28 years. Our 1st Donkey arrived 6 years ago and our Alpacas arrived 5 months ago.

We currently have 12 Horses, 6 Donkeys and 2 Alpacas.

Over the years we have taken in over 100 Horses, some have found new homes but alot have been pts sadly

I have completely self funded most of it with the help of donations and more recently, a Donkey Experience which helps fund us too.

We will never turn an animal in need away but it's getting harder to do that atm.

Hay is in demand this year with the recent drought. Farmers are getting a third of their normal crop and this means that hay price has gone up from £30 per bale to £65 per bale.!!! This price is expected to rise as winter gets closer.

We have fed hay all summer so far, going through around 4 bales a week.

We expect to go through 6 bales a week in winter!

We have an amazing group of volunteers who give their time freely.

We don't pay or receive any wages.

We rely on donations of wood to build our shelters, flag stones for the animals to stand on and so much more.

Our Donkeys have visitors from all walks of life from children to the elderly and disabled. They are calming, affectionate and help people in lots of different ways.

They are true therapy animals.
