My name is Romi, and I am supporting my cousins, Kamal and Christine, to launch this fundraiser to help them evacuate to safety and continue their education.

Dear friends and community members,

My name is Kamal Amash (22), a Palestinian from Gaza. Since October 7, 2023, we have been living our worst lives. It has been more than 170 days taking shelter at the church here in Northen Gaza. Life here is extremely awful. Every day that goes by is harder.

I am in the fourth year of my bachelor degree in Veterinary Medicine. My sister, Christine (23), is in her graduation year to complete her bachelor's degree in dentistry. Unfortunately, we are being forced to complete our university studies outside the country because our universities are completely destroyed, and there is no future in Gaza at all. Completing studies at other universities outside requires a sort of balancing those bachelor degrees to meet the requirements of the new university. This will set us two years back!

Our life at the church lacks food, nutrition, electricity, clean water, and proper medical access. In 2023, my mom was diagnosed with brain cancer. She didn't complete her chemotherapy and was unable to get her treatment due to the war.

We dream of a better future, a one where we can continue to pursue our education and build a life for ourselves and our family. All of the assets of our family, including home, cars, and businesses, are under the risk of destruction or loss. We don't know whether we are going to survive this brutal war or not.

Evacuating Gaza requires a lot of money, including fees to cross to Egypt which is 7,600$ per person and constantly changing in addition to paperwork, passport renewal, flight tickets, accommodation, transportation, household bills, and food.

Our family size is 6, including our father (Majed), mother (Sonia), and two high school siblings (Fares and Hala).

We decided to launch this fundraiser to ask you all for your support. Your generosity will help us make it out to safety towards a better future. Your kind support, either by sharing our story or donating directly, means the world to us during this crisis.
