Hello. My name is Allyssa. About 8 months ago, I moved from the deep south to Washington State with my wife, both to get away from abusive family, and in hopes that I as a trans person would be safer here. While Washington is lovely, the US federal government is becoming very hostile to trans people. Now that we've hopefully bought ourselves some time by moving here, we're pursuing our long term goal of emigrating to Canada. My wife is a Canadian citizen, and we're hoping to apply for her to sponsor me for permanent residence. The main barrier stopping us right now is our inability to cover the various costs associated with the immigration process. This campaign's goal will be the sum of all the fees and costs associated with this process that I know of, along with a bit of a buffer in case something turns out to be more expensive than I anticipated. These costs include:
Sponsorship fee: $61.10 USD
Principal applicant processing fee: $391.77 USD
Right of permanent residence fee: $413.34 USD
Biometrics fee: $61.10 USD
Immigration medical examination fee: around $550 USD
Greyhound tickets for two people to get to and from LA(I've found a place to drop of biometrics closer to where I live, and will be cutting this cost from the goal as a result): Roughly $626 USD
Sum of costs: $2103.31 USD
If you can spare anything to help us reach our goal of getting to Canada, we would appreciate it beyond words. If you can't afford to donate, but would still like to help the campaign, sharing the page around helps, and is certainly also appreciated. Thank you so much for your time, and have a lovely day.
