Help us escape Gaza

Hello, I am Jameel Sabbah, a 23 year old surviving in Gaza.

Right now my immediate family of 16 and I are in a home where more than 80 people are taking shelter

I am starting a fundraiser to save the lives of my immediate family members. This is our last resort to get us all out of Gaza alive.

Before October 7th, our lives here were much like yours. My family and I had just finished renovating our home which we lived in for generations. We enjoyed outings together and were comfortable and happy. In just a moment we lost everything. We were forced to leave our home in the north of Gaza, which is now destroyed, carrying little to nothing because we thought we would return. We were told to leave via Salah al-Din road to the south where it would be safe. Since then we have had to evacuate three times to different homes because the danger is extreme everywhere.

Right now we are in a home sheltering more than 15 families. The circumstances we are in now are extremely difficult. We are forced to ration our food because it is very scarce and anything you can find is very expensive. Just for bread, we must wait hours in the market which in itself is extremely dangerous. The water we have is unclean, we have to choose between being dehydrated or getting sick from the water which we drink. Access to the bathroom and showers is limited, if we are lucky we get to shower once a week due to the shortage of clean water and how many people are living in this house. The circumstances here are unlivable.

Before the war my aunts and uncles had health problems which they were getting treatment for. We fear now that their condition will worsen more than it already has not only because there is no medicine available but because we have very scarce clean water and the food we ration is not nutritional enough to survive on. For the rest of us our mental health is gone. We have experienced things which we never could have imagined and we are all physically and mentally exhausted.

This fundraising campaign is a last attempt to escape Gaza and start a new life again like the one we had before. The price for each person to escape to Egypt is $5000 and with my 16 immediate family members plus myself the total comes out to $50000. The money will go to my cousin living in Egypt who will pay a company which is able to evacuate us to her in Cairo.
