Help Us Escape an Unsafe Living Situation

Donation protected
Hello everyone,

My name is Nina. I currently live in an unsafe neighborhood with my husband and sister-in-law, and we are reaching out for your kindness and support to help us move to a safer place.

For months, we have been targeted by an unknown individual who has vandalized our cars, stolen our parcels, and harassed us with aggressive knocking pranks late at night. Despite our efforts, we have been unable to identify the person responsible, and the situation is becoming increasingly distressing.

Our Financial Struggles
Our family is not financially well-off. My husband works a minimum-wage job to support both me and his sister, who also works part-time for extra income. I have been searching for both full-time and part-time jobs locally, but unfortunately, I have faced repeated rejection—likely due to my hijab as we are living in the countryside.

In the meantime, I sell my art at markets and conventions, which helps cover some of our daily expenses, but it is not enough to save for a move. Recently we have also used a lot of our finances on fixing the damages for our cars as well as saving up for a dashcam as it is quite costly.

A Timeline of the Incidents

12th February 2025 – My husband's car was vandalized, with its side mirrors pulled off and deep scratches left behind. Just a week and a half later, my sister-in-law's car suffered the same damage, along with a key scratch running from the front to the back.

6th March 2025 – My car had a nail “stuck” under my tire which caused it to deflate which we weren’t sure if it was a sudden accident or it was planted where we always park which is located in front of our garage. On the 16th of March, we found that we had another tire deflated as well and when inspected, we found that there was a stab mark on the tire. The car has been parked overnight and was not used throughout the day with no complication up until the evening where we saw the damage.

For the past month, we have endured relentless, loud knocks on our door at night and in the early morning. Whenever my sister-in-law or I are home alone, we feel incredibly unsafe. We also had a few incidents where our deliveries are frequently stolen even though it was left outside for a short moment before we could even get it.

Why We Can’t Get Help from Authorities
We have tried reporting these incidents to the police via telephone, but due to a "lack of evidence," our complaints have been dismissed and was directed to an online report website. Our neighbors’ security cameras do not capture our property well enough to provide proof. When we attempted to file an online report, we were told we did not “qualify” to submit a case.

A neighbor previously warned us about “car slashing” in the area—something we had never experienced until now. Today, he mentioned that cars in the neighborhood have been stolen and burned. We fear that this situation could escalate further, and we do not feel safe staying here any longer.

Why We Need Your Support
Due to our financial situation, saving enough to move is extremely difficult. We rarely eat out and cook at home daily to cut costs, but even with our efforts, we are struggling to gather the necessary funds.

In the meantime whilst we work towards our goals we will be using our own funds to purchase:
✅CCTV cameras and dashcams
✅Steering locks
✅Any extra safety items to secure our house and cars

We are asking for your kindness and generosity to help us raise enough funds to cover:
✅ A deposit for a new home ( £1000-£1200 ish )
✅ Moving expenses ( £500 ish )
✅ At least half the rent for the first to two months of rent to help us get back on our feet ( £500 ish pcm )

How You Can Help
I am offering art commissions for those who donate—if you’d like to request one, please feel free to message me via Instagram. Please note that depending on the number of requests, commissions may take some time.

Even if you are unable to donate, sharing this post would mean the world to me. This has been incredibly difficult to write, but we are truly in need of help. Any form of support, no matter how small, is deeply appreciated.

Thank you from the bottom of my heart for taking the time to read this.
