Help us ease our dads pain during his final months

 Hi,

Hi, If you know my siblings or me, you probably know we have financially supported our parents for the past 14+ years. Our dad, who suffers from Parkinson's disease, recently had another lumbar decompression and fusion surgery. His past spinal cord surgery caused him to develop new numbness and weakness of both legs and gradually has formed into paralysis. Last week my dad fell while en route to the clinic and injured his hip, and he now cannot move his legs at all, causing him to be bed-bound or in a wheelchair. My dad is in stage 5 of Parkinson's disease, the final stage, the most debilitating PD stage. He's lost all his mobility in his legs, he can't feed himself, he can't bathe himself, and his speech is becoming more difficult. Our dad requires 24-hour nursing care.

Our dad was diagnosed with early-onset Parkinsons in 2008 after going through some tough months (losing his business, our house ending up in foreclosure and our mentally ill mother getting worse). We have been through this battle for years, having to provide financial stability for both of our sick parents, and it has recently taken a toll on us mentally and financially. We moved our parents to Colombia before Covid19 because the cost of living and insurance is more doable than having them in the states, which also means it is tough for us to see them often, and these past months have been extra challenging. At this point, we need to move my dad to hospice care and away from my mom, who has become violent and highly delusional. Our mother suffers from borderline personality disorder, and the past year, her emotional abuse has increased and has now become physically abusive towards our dad. We would love to also get her the help she needs but that’s been difficult to navigate while abroad, in a pandemic, while worried about our dad too. The doctors told us my dad doesn't have more than 3-6 months, and the best we could do is make his few next months as comfortable as possible, move him away from our mom, provide him with 24/7 care and most importantly be able to spend some time with him. We were hoping to bring him back to the states, but that might not be possible with his current state, so my siblings and I would have to go back and forth to Colombia.

I'm not sure how to end this gofundme... asking for help has been the most challenging thing for me, but please help us reach our goal to help our dad; we appreciate and are grateful for any donation or share you can make.

Thank you so much!
