My name is Nazirah Fannoney. On March 30, 2024, I reported that I was raped and spent the next two years navigating the legal system. I did everything the system asks survivors to do: I reported the crime, cooperated with investigators, and testified under oath in front of a jury. Despite this, the outcome left me feeling that justice was never truly given a chance. Important evidence was excluded from the jury, and testimony was given in court that directly contradicted prior confessions of guilt and existing DNA evidence.
Because of this, we are organizing peaceful protests and rallies to demand accountability and bring attention to the importance of truth in the courtroom. When testimony is given under oath, honesty must matter, and perjury should be prosecuted and punished.
Funds raised will go toward creating shirts and materials that will allow supporters to visibly stand together and bring attention to the cause, as well as raising money for legal funds to ensure justice is served. If you believe in accountability and supporting survivors, please consider donating or sharing. Every contribution helps bring more voices together.
