Hello, we are trying to raise funds to save Dixie. Dixie is a 7 year old Vizsla that became very sick at the end of 2021. She has been a part of our family since she was a puppy, and even had two healthy litters of puppies that made a lot of other families happy. She was a loving mother and energetic until she was diagnosed with lymphoma cancer. We were told she had less than two months to live without chemotherapy. She began a chemotherapy treatment called CHOP on 12/15/2021 and received her final treatment on 5/5/2022. This does not cure her as lymphoma can only be put into remission. We chose this expensive treatment because of how much we loved her. She seemed healthy, happy, and back to normal the remainder of 2022.

In February of 2023 she became lethargic and very sick again. We decided to save and spend as much as possible again to start the chemotherapy again on 2/26/2023. After the first couple treatments it became evident that the cancer wasn't reacting to the CHOP treatment as it had become resistant. We switched to a newer and more expensive chemotherapy called vincristine. This was completed on 5/21/2023 and put the cancer into remission.

We know this is only a reprieve until the cancer returns. While it is in remission, we discovered a treatment that actually cures dogs of lymphoma cancer. It is the same treatment used in humans and is called Bone Marrow Transplantation. This procedure is very expensive, and is only performed at one location in the United States. After the first two treatments, and the large investment they required, we are hoping to raise funds to get this potentially life saving and final treatment to cure and save Dixie's life.
