Our Story

The Hideouts is the realization of a lifelong love for the outdoors, born from a shared journey of adventure, connection, and passion for nature. We’re two kids from Chicago who met as teenagers at a YMCA summer camp in Wisconsin, where we spent summers immersed in the beauty of the wilderness. Those formative years taught us how nature can bring people together, spark creativity, and create lifelong memories.

As adults, our love for the outdoors only grew. Over the past two years, we’ve lived full-time in a travel trailer, exploring campgrounds and KOAs across the United States. From the towering peaks of the Rocky Mountains to the sun-soaked beaches of Florida, we’ve camped in some of the most beautiful places on Earth. We also spent a month camping in Australia and another in New Zealand, soaking in their stunning landscapes and gaining insight into what makes a campground truly special. Along the way, we learned the ingredients of an unforgettable outdoor experience: accessibility, sustainability, creativity, and the deep connection that only nature can offer.

Now, we’re bringing everything we’ve learned to Southern Oregon with The Hideouts—167 acres of untouched wilderness, where we’re building a glamping retreat like no other. Picture this: cozy glass domes perched with canyon views, peaceful creekside yurts nestled among the trees, and stargazing from a hilltop fire pit under a canopy of stars. The Hideouts will be a destination for celebration, adventure, and peace—a place where people can connect with the outdoors without sacrificing comfort.

Since 2024, we’ve been pouring our hearts into building this dream:

• Cleared campsites across the creek, mid-level, and top of the property.

• Installed solar infrastructure to power the site sustainably.

• Built centralized kitchens and gathering spaces to create community.

• Scheduled our first weddings, retreats, and workshops for Spring 2025.

But we’re just getting started, and we need your help to bring The Hideouts to life. We’re raising funds to:

• Build eco-friendly bathrooms and outdoor showers.

• Expand accommodations with glass domes, yurts, and tents.

• Improve roads to make the property accessible for all guests.

The Hideouts isn’t just a glamping destination—it’s a labor of love. It’s a way to share the transformative magic of the outdoors and to build a space where people can celebrate life, deepen connections, and find peace.
