Let’s not “bury the lead” as a journalist would say. Government Cheese needs your money. All of it.

We’re going to make another record, it will be great, and only YOU can prevent forest fires. “GoFundMe” comes from the Latin “gofundium”, which means “to beg”.

But we’re not going to beg. Ever since we first performed “Fish Tick Day” we’ve been big believers in dignity, and all we’re going to say is, please, in the name of all that is holy, please give us your money. All of it.

The meals you could eat with that money will soon enough fade in your memory, but the record is forever.

Like our last two LPs, the record will be produced and engineered by the formidable tag team of Brad Jones and Brad Jones, and will be recorded at Alex the Great Studios in Nashville. We don’t why “Studios” is plural. There’s only one studio there. But who are we to quibble?

Believe us; every penny you can give will go to making the record. No private planes. No solid gold bicycles. The only ancillary expense will be Raisin Bran. (The band loves Raisin Bran.)

So there you have it. Please give, and we will love you forever, even more than we already do.
