Over the past 7 years, we’ve shown that poetry is valuable.
Poetry heals hearts, bring people together, and create moments of love, joy, and happiness for all people.
I've gotten to hold space for so many of you in parks, train stations, and honestly wherever else we could.
Now we have the opportunity to *finally* grow.
Recently I got the opportunity to have my very own space on Atlanta's beltline (the shipping container behind me).
My vision is to create a poetry parlor where there will be 2-3 poets available to write custom, on-the-spot poems for people.
It will be whimsical and pretty, separated by curtains so people can hold private moments, and have a video booth inside where people can read and react to their poems in real-time.
If you know anything about Atlanta, this is a PRIME location.
Every weekend, families, couples, and friends flock to the beltline to go for a stroll, have deep conversations and experience fun moments. The area has become very commercialized and gentrified in recent years, so to have the ability to be a small, woman-owned, and BLACK owned business is this area would be a huge milestone.
The owners of the property are looking to give me a GREAT deal for the space. But I need your help.
The money I'm looking to raise is to have the space, build it out, and set up all the business stuff we need (permits, licenses, insurance, etc.) and be fully operational by June 1st (just in time for the world cup⚽).
It's a lot of work and resources required, hence why I'm leaning on my community.
I’d love for you to join me on the journey of making this possible. ❤️
