20 years ago, in a grocery store not that far away, there was a day shift manager known as Chad Vader, living under the shadow of his more famous brother Darth.
Can you believe it’s been 20 years already? In 2006, Chad Vader burst upon the YouTube scene, racking up millions of views and catapulting Aaron Yonda and Matt Sloan into a comedy career. They were some of the very first YouTubers.
Most of the YouTubers from that era have long moved on, but Matt and Aaron stubbornly refuse to go away. And now here we are, 20 years later and thinking "Shouldn't we really make a Chad Vader anniversary special?"
If you think so too, you have the power to make it happen! Every dollar we get via this GoFundMe will help make an episode possible. If we make our budget goal of $10,000, we will make a fully operational episode, with as many of the folks who were in the original series as we can muster and a classic Chad Vader original plotline. Plus, there has been a lot more Star Wars since 2006 that needs skewering. Let’s make this happen!
The budget will go towards buying a new Chad Vader suit (the original was stolen!), paying the crew and the actors, and funding props, craft service, equipment, etc. Plus writing, editing, production costs, and some advertising costs to get the word out about the special. And our fee for using the grocery store.
There are no specific rewards for this campaign other than a completed episode, but of course everyone who pledges will get a mention in the credits and updates here as we progress. Thanks for your consideration!
We will keep this GoFundMe going all year so consider the monthly option if you would rather support the project slow and sure. Cheers!
