Over the past several months, I’ve been dealing with documented hearing loss in both ears along with persistent tinnitus that hasn’t resolved. After evaluation by an audiologist and ENT, prescription hearing aids were recommended to help manage the tinnitus, reduce listening fatigue, and prevent further decline. These are not optional or cosmetic devices. They are medically prescribed hearing aids for both ears, chosen at the lowest base level that meets clinical needs.
Insurance helped reduce the total cost, but I am still left with a significant out-of-pocket amount, which I need to pay in order to move forward with treatment. I explored payment plans, but financing isn’t available to me right now due to circumstances beyond my control. My credit was significantly impacted by recovery from Hurricane Harvey and by extended medical expenses when my youngest child spent over two months in the NICU after birth.
I don’t ask for help lightly. I’ve reduced costs as much as possible and pursued every available option before turning to this. The remaining gap is simply more than I can absorb at once. Any support—whether through donating or sharing—would go directly toward covering the remaining cost of the hearing aids and follow-up fittings so treatment can begin. Thank you for taking the time to read, and for any support you’re able to offer. I’m deeply grateful.
